Can she still vote?

I just looked on Outlook to see when the presidential election will be in 2012.  Turns out it's the day before my friend's birthday (Nov. 7th).  Can she still vote?  I thought there was some rule about it, and a speaker talked about it in History last spring.

Science Fair...again

I had to turn in three topic proposals to my science teacher a while back.  She said my first project was approved, but with conditions.  It turned out that I would have to conduct my experiment in a lab with a qualified scientist because it involved possible bacteria.  Because I'm at play rehearsals everyday then leaving straight for swimming, I thought, "Hell no!  I'm not going to be allowed to go to a lab at 8pm every day for 7 weeks, especially without food after a 2+ hour workout!"  So I asked her to look at my other 2 topics.  She gave it back a week later (today) and told me that my other 2 projects were too simple.  I have no idea what to do.  I had a hard enough time coming up with those topics, what am I supposed to do now?  It can't be anything involving live subjects, and nothing with fire, bacteria, or hazardous chemicals.  I hate plants and space, and will never, ever do a project involving either.  I don't know why I had trouble finding high school level projects.  I'm going to begin searching right after I post this, so don't say "Get off your lazy butt and look some more then."

From an Email to a Penpal

h"I’m not quite worn out, but then again, technically I haven’t been sick...I don’t have to remember elementary school.  I have a brother in who constantly reminds me simply with his lack for homework.  He complains about how hard it is to think of things that describe him, and it took all my restraint to not say out loud, “Well at least you don’t have to worry about your high school GPA."

...Above I said that I wasn’t technically sick, but because of the stupid high-pollen content I’ve been sniffling (along with my peers and teachers) for the past few days, and I had swimmer’s ear over the weekend.  It wasn’t a big deal though.  I just had to remember to put drops in my right ear twice a day.

Last week was tryouts for the school play...I’m very excited b/c I actually got the lead female role this time!  That’s going to get pretty busy considering the only 2 scenes I’m not in are pair with scenes I am in, so I always have to be at rehearsals.  I’m not too bothered though.  I can still find time to do homework.

While my mind is focused on my schedule, here’s a general idea of it.  It isn’t as bad as it seems though because I get to skip 1st period for off-campus PE, so I don’t have to leave the house until 9, compared to catching the bus at 7:30 (which I actually have to do tomorrow because of NHS).  Monday morning I have swim practice, so I get up...to eat & put on my suit.  I’m home, hop in the shower, eat some fruit, and continue my morning routine, arriving at school...just in time for the bell to ring.   After school I have theatre, which always ends at 5.  My mom drives me to the pool and I change into my suit & get ready for dry-lands...  I get home around 8, eat dinner, take a shower, do my homework, and, if I have time, check my email before I go to bed.  Tuesdays Mom has Jazzercise and has to drop me off early, so I hang out in the office.  This is the day we get study time during the last 30 minutes of choir.  After school is the same every day.   Wednesday I get to sleep in!  This day is actually normal.  Thursday is another morning practice day.  My mom has bowling today, so she has to drop me off early again.  We have study time in choir on Thursdays too, so usually I get all my homework done, except for math, which I have 6th period.  Usually I work on it during Journalism.  Fridays are the other day my mom has to be at Jazzercise early (she goes every morning) and are generally homework-free, except for Algebra, of course.  I spend Saturday finishing my homework & working on Science Fair and/or History Fair, and on Sunday I have to be at church...during the 9:15 service.  Any forgotten homework is usually done Sunday afternoon.

Which reminds me, my dad tried to teach me the rules of football, and I fell asleep.

What's you daily schedule like?"

NOTE: I've pretty much only taken out things that would reveal where I live and typos.  Please ignore the "h" at the beginning.  it's so the margins don't try to get smart.

Happy Labour Day Everybody!

No school!  Basically no work!  Wahoo!

My parents decided that this weekend we were going to take a trip to Ethan Allen to order my new bedroom furniture that I picked out last year.  Once we got there we showed my dad and brother (who’d never seen the furniture) what we were ordering and my mom gave my dad a chance to veto it.  He didn’t.  Then we started discussing bedding and whatnot.  We eventually decided we’d think about it.

Sunday was spent cleaning out my room so I wouldn’t have too much stuff once my new furniture gets here.  Most of my clothes hadn’t been sorted since 6th grade, so we got rid of a ton of stuff.  Mom claimed that my brother and I don’t have any long-sleeved shirts.  I told her it’s because we have a ton of lightweight jackets.  My closet, trundle, and desk still need to be cleaned, but other than that we’re done.  That’s actually less than half of my room.  Plus I’ve already started on my closet and most of the stuff in my closet and trundle just need to be stored.

Yesterday in the Sunday ads I was looking at the bedding when I decided that I needed a picture of the Canon Powershot S5 IS, the "chosen one" of all the camera's I researched to replace my two-year old Nikon Coolpix L3.  It's so beat up that you can't even read the model on the front.  But really I just wanted a better quality camera because I know that I'm going to be using it a lot within the next few years, and the grainy pictures just weren't cutting it for our yearbook, you know?  So anyways...lol...I needed the picture for my "Wish Board," an idea stolen from "The Secret." (See Currently Watching, b/c I saw the DVD with my mom.  I'll read the book eventually.)  It just so happened that the universe was working in my favor (you'll have to understand The Secret to get that) because the camera was $100 off at OfficeMax on Labour Day weekend.  We found out that they honored competior's coupon's at OfficeDepot, and that was closer, so we went there instead.  We also found the perfect bedding (which also included 2 sham covers and a bedskirt) at Dillard's for half off, along with 3 Euros and 1 small square pillow:

My grandparents are spending the afternoon here today.  Dinner is going to be in about an hour, maybe sooner.
